L'histoire de la marque Gütermann.

Max Gütermann was born in 1828 in upper Franconia as the second son of 8 children. His family was respected in the textile trade since generation.

In 1864 he get married and with his wife he had 6 children (1 daugthter and 5 sons). In 1868 his family and he moved to Gutach and settles down next to the Gütermann city company.

Max Gütermann est né en 1828 dans le nord de Franconie, il est le deuxième fils d'une fratrie de 8 enfants. Sa famille est respectée dans le domaine du commerce de textile depuis des générations.

En 1864, il se marie et avec sa femme, ils ont 6 enfants (1 fille et 5 fils). En 1868 sa famille et lui déménage à Gutach et s'installent à côté de l'entreprise Gütermann de la ville.

30 years after the foundation of the compagy, Max reaches in 1884 the aim he has persistently been following from the start : independance production and therefore the prerequisite of being able to offer his customers consistent quality. For him, this success is the right moment to hand the company over to his 5 sons.

30 ans après la fondation de l’entreprise, Max atteint en 1884 l’objectif qu’il a constamment suivi depuis le début : l'indépendance de sa production qui était la condition préalable pour être capable d'offrir à ses clients une qualité constante. Ce succès est pour lui le bon moment de transmettre son entreprise à ses 5 fils.

Under their leadership, a lot of social benefits were implemented from 1884 until 1931. The third Gütermann generation lost all businesses in Eastern European countries as a result of the first world war. The next generation was handed aver a heathly company with the condition for a successful further development.

Sous leur direction, beaucoup d’avantages sociaux ont été mis en œuvre entre 1884 et 1931. La troisième génération de Gütermann a perdu toutes les entreprises dans les pays d’Europe de l’Est à la suite de la première guerre mondiale. La génération suivante a hérité d'une entreprise en bonne santé avec de bonnes conditions pour un développement ultérieur réussi.

In the post war years the 4th Gütermann generation joined the Gütermann company in Gutch, Perosa, Sâo Paulo, Vienna, Paris and Zurich. The situation was desolate.

Only in 1949 the economic situation began to improve with the currency reform and the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany. In Gutach it was possible to purchase raw materials and recruit new employees again.

Dans les années d’après-guerre, la 4ème génération Gütermann a rejoint la société Gütermann à Gutch, Perosa, Sâo Paulo, Vienne, Paris et Zurich. La situation était désolante.

Ce n’est qu’en 1949 que la situation économique a commencé à s’améliorer avec la réforme monétaire et la création de la République fédérale d’Allemagne. A Gutach, il a été possible d’acheter des matières premières et de recruter à nouveau de nouveaux employés.

The 4th generation productive working relationship and mutual understanding certainly played a decisive role in the company's ability to survive even economically difficult time relatively unscathed.

La relation de travail productive de la 4ème génération ainsi que la compréhension mutuelle ont certainement joué un rôle décisif dans la capacité de l’entreprise à survivre même à des moments économiquement difficiles et de s'en sortir relativement indemnes.

For the record, Max Gütermann and his wife had got 6 children, 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 118 great-great-grandchildren and well over 200 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Pour l'anecdote, Max Gütermann et sa femme on eut 6 enfants, 30 petits-enfants, 54 arrières petits-enfants, 118 arrières-arrières petits-enfants et plus de 200 arrières-arrières-arrières petits-enfants.

For my company, I have choose the 100% cotton thread by Gütermann for its strenght, its resistance and the color choise. Sometime I use the 100 % silk thread too.

To my opinion Gütermann thread is the best sot that's why I work only with this brand for my creations. The best, only the best.

Pour mon entreprise, j'ai choisi le fils 100% coton de Gütermann pour sa solidité, sa résistance et le choix des couleurs. Parfois j'utilise le 100% soie.

Pour ma part, le fils Gütermann est le meilleur c'est pourquoi je ne travaille qu'avec cette marque pour mes créations. Le meilleur, rien que le meilleur.
